How was LA Chosen to be the Host of the Games 2028?
For a city to be chosen to host the Olympic games, it has to have certain qualities.
In this instance, it needs to have experience hosting the games. LA has indeed held the Olympic Games twice before, once in 1932 and once in 1984. The city also needs to have the required infrastructure. LA is known for its sports facilities and vast number of stadiums and venues, which reduces the need for new construction.
The Olympic committee is also big on minimizing environmental impacts, and as LA is all about sustainability and innovation, it ticked that requirement!
On a final note, LA was originally bidding to get the go ahead to host the Olympic Games in 2024. This was awarded to Paris, but at the same time as this announcement, the Olympic Committee decided to award LA with the 2028 games. So, it just got a pushback.
