How are the Nominees Chosen?

Gerald Murnane, an Australian novelist and short story writer, is the second favorite and is best known for The Plains (1982), Inland (1988), Invisible Yet Enduring Lilacs (2005), and Last Letter to a Reader (2021),
Other possible names rumored for the prize include Haruki Murakami (A Wild Sheep Chase), Stephen King (The Shining), J. K. Rowling (The Harry Potter series), Salman Rushdie (The Satanic Verses), John Grisham (The Firm), Anne Carson (Wrong Norma), Cesar Aira (The Hare), and more.
What is the Voting Process for the Nobel Prize in Literature?
Members of the Swedish Academy will vote for their preferred candidate in October 2024.
The author who receives over half of the votes will be announced as the chosen Nobel Laureate in Literature the same month and will attend the ceremony in December 2024.
Could the Swedish Academy Select More Than One Laureate?
Yes. The Nobel Prize in Literature can be shared between two laureates, but not three or more.
What Does the Prize Include?
The chosen laureate(s) will receive a diploma bearing a citation, a gold medal, and a sum of money. The amount is determined by the Nobel Foundation each year.
