Harry Potter Series For Warner Bros and HBO

  • Jan 2, 2026, Worldwide

When Bloomsbury Publishing released the first Harry Potter book back in 1997, it is safe to assume that neither they nor the author, J. K. Rowling, thought it would be where it is today.

After 500 million book sales, eight movies which earned a combined $7.7 billion (making it the fourth highest grossing film series worldwide), as well as launching the careers of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, the story of the wizard boy with a scar on his forehead has done alright for itself!

All of the success that has befallen author J.K. Rowling has led to Warner Bros and HBO wanting to make the book into a series. This was announced back in 2023, and allegedly, author J. K. Rowling is on board to oversee the creation. Of course, given the recent controversy surrounding the author’s comments, it could make for a bad idea for HBO and Warner Bros to have her at the helm.

When Will The Harry Potter Series Be Released?

Muggles and wizards the world over have been eager for news of a release date for the Harry Potter series.

At the time of writing, the only information that Warner Bros and HBO have released is that Potterheads will have to wait until 2026.

However, there is some information out there on who is going to be helping Rowling bring her vision to life. Francesca Gardiner, who worked on Killing Eve, is going to be one of the writers, alongside Game of Thrones writer Max Mylod. One of the original producers for the Harry Potter movies, David Heyman, is also going to be on the team, alongside producers Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts.

So, don’t worry Potter fans! When it is released, it will have had the professional treatment!

Who Will Appear in the Series?

OK, so the question on everyone’s minds is who is going to play Harry, Ron and Hermione?

Of course, it is not likely to be Daniel Radcliffe, Watson and Grint. They are good, but it’s not likely that they will be able to pull off playing 12-year-olds again! There is no official cast list yet, but HBO has stated that the challenge is going to be casting younger actors to play the roles, and they are currently on the lookout for talented kids between the ages of 10-13.

Where to Watch The Harry Potter Series

The Harry Potter series will be available on HBO and Warner Bros, on both TV channels and on the services’ streaming platforms. For Potter fans in the UK and Europe, it is advised to use the online platforms to watch the series.

However, fans should keep their eyes on the official Harry Potter website over the next few months, as there could be some sneak peeks at the filming there!

If you think that the role of Dumbledore is more suited to Charles Dance, you could win $350 by betting $100 at 1xBet.
