When is Fyre Festival 2?
Billy McFarland recently told TODAY that Fyre Festival 2 is scheduled to take place from May 30 to June 2, 2025.
The event has reportedly been pushed back by a month, as McFarland said, “We just needed the extra month to give our partners time to get everything ready.”
Where Will the Festival be Held?
While the first Fyre Festival was based on Great Exuma island in the Bahamas, the second event will be held at Isla Mujeres, an island five miles away from the coast of Cancun.
During the 2024 interview with TODAY, McFarland stated the festival would use the island’s existing lodging, eateries, and restrooms.
Also, the logistics will be managed by the event’s “incredible production company,” and he stated they are “developing and building out the private island for the actual festival festivities.”
Who Will Perform at Fyre Festival 2?
Fyre Festival 2 isn’t long away, but the event has yet to announce the acts that will take to the stage.
However, McFarland stated, “We’re going to have artists across electronic, hip hop, pop, and rock. However, it’s not just music. We might have a professional skateboarder do a demonstration. We might have an MMA champion teach you techniques in the morning.”
How Can I Buy Fyre Festival 2 Tickets?
Two thousand tickets for Fyre Festival 2 went on sale on February 24, 2024, with ticket prices starting from $1,400 to $1.1 million.
The tickets can be purchased on the event’s official website. According to Billy McFarland, he has already sold 100 tickets for $500 each.
If you choose the $1.1 million package, McFarland said, “You will be on a boat, have the luxury yachts that we partner with who will be docked and parked outside the island. But once again, Fyre is not just about this, like, luxury experience. It’s about the adventure. So, you’ll be scuba diving with me. You’ll be bouncing around to other islands and other countries on small planes.”
What Happened at the First Fyre Festival?
Despite being billed as a “once-in-a-lifetime musical experience” held on a stunning private island, the first Fyre Festival failed to live up to its promises.
For instance, some attendees paid a whopping $250,000 for premium tickets only to receive a poor experience, as it included low-grade sleeping tents, substandard security, and boxed meals that included the event’s famous cheese sandwiches.
The headline acts, such as Blink-182, even cancelled their performances the weekend before the festival.
After being sentenced to six years in prison on wire fraud charges in October 2018, Billy McFarland was released from prison in May 2022 and now hopes to rectify his mistakes with a brand-new festival this May.
