When and Where is Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn?
Chris Eubank Jr. will finally have an opportunity to face his boxing nemesis Conor Benn in the ring on April 26, 2025.
The long-awaited event will take place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, and it is known as Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
Who is Most Likely to Win the Fight?
Conor Benn was forced to spend 525 days outside the ring as he attempted to clear his name over a failed drug test. Fortunately, his suspension was lifted in November 2024.
While Benn was proving his innocence for two years, Chris Eubank Jr. had a chance to showcase his skills in the ring, as he won the vacant IBO middleweight title against Kamil Szeremeta in October 2024. Plus, he won his rematch against Liam Smith by TKO in September 2023.
For this reason, Eubank Jr. is the bookies’ favorite to win the fight against Conor Benn this April.
However, it would be foolish to underestimate Benn in the fight. While he may not have fought in a British ring since 2022, he has had two opportunities to fight in the United States recently.
For instance, he beat Rodolfo Orozco in Florida in September 2023, and he won his fight against Peter Dobson in Las Vegas in February 2024, winning both by unanimous decision.
Yet, Chris Eubank Jr. might be a more natural middleweight, as Conor Benn will need to move up two weight divisions from welterweight for the fight.
Carl Froch, a former super-middleweight world champion, seemingly believes Benn has what it takes to win.
He said on Froch on Fighting, “I want to see the fight. The history of the fathers makes me more interested, but what’s at stake? Not much. Obviously, Jr has already been beaten, he lost to Billy Joe Saunders, lost to George Groves, and got battered by Liam Smith. With those three losses, it’s took the edge off the fight. Conor Benn is unbeaten, on the climb since failing that drug test… The fight’s happening. I’m looking forward to it. And I just think, when the time comes around, it will be massive.”
Who Will Appear on the Undercard?
The following fights will appear on the Eubank Jr. vs Benn undercard:
- Anthony Yarde vs Lyndon Arthur
- Liam Smith vs Aaron McKenna
- Chris Billam-Smith vs Brandon Glanton
- Viddal Riley vs Cheavon Clarke
