What is the Release Date for Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty?
Amazon Prime Video hasn’t announced an official release date for season three of The Summer I Turned Pretty.
However, Lola Lung recently appeared in a video with the cast on the beach and said, “See you in Summer 2025!”
As season one premiered in mid-June 2022 and season two dropped in mid-July 2023, it is likely that season three will drop in a similar timeframe.
What is the Plot?
Season three of The Summer I Turned Pretty is likely to follow the same plot as Jenny Han’s We’ll Always Have Summer, which is the third and final novel from her book franchise.
In the book, the events take place two years after the second installment It’s Not Summer Without You.
If you have read the novels, you will know Belly will be torn between the two Fisher brothers in season three, but she finally decides between them.
While season two was criticized for straying away from the second novel, it is believed the third season will closely follow the third book.
Who Will Appear in Season 3?
It might be a relief to learn that the main cast is expected to reprise their roles in season three of The Summer I Turned Pretty.
For instance, Lola Tung will return to her leading role as Belly, and Gavin Casalegno and Christopher Briney will slip back into the shoes of Jeremiah and Conrad Fisher.
Also, the show’s supporting cast members are back, including Sean Kaufman as Steven, Jackie Chung as Laurel, and Rain Spencer as Taylor.
However, fans might be disappointed to learn that Aunt Julia will not appear, as Kyra Sedgwick confirmed in June 2024 that she would be absent for season three.
How Many Episodes Will Season 3 Have?
According to creator Jenny Han, season three will feature ten episodes; however, Amazon Prime Video has reportedly increased the number to 11. It will be music to fans’ ears, as it will feature three more episodes than the previous seasons.
Will The Summer I Turn Pretty End with Season Three?
As Jenny Han released a trilogy of books of the same name, many fans suspect it will be the third and final season of the hit show.
Prime Video has yet to announce if season three is the last, but Gavin Casalegno has hinted season three will wrap up the love story.
When interviewed by Entertainment Tonight recently, he said, “I think everyone is excited for season three to finish the story. At least what Jenny’s vision is. I think that will be super fun.”
